Concerned your teen may have ADD/ADHD?

As the parent of an adolescent with ADD/ADHD, you are probably all too familiar with the struggles your teenager faces outside of his/her condition. To make matters more complicated, getting the help your teen needs, along with preparing them for college or the next phase in life can be exhausting. The fact is it is easy to be overwhelmed by ADD/ADHD. Not only is it a serious condition with many dimensions, but a diagnosis is just the first step in what can seem like a never-ending list of requirements for achieving successful treatment. That is why ADD Health & Wellness Centers has established specialized groups designed specifically to meet your adolescent’s needs. The unique Social Skills and Parenting Groups help you and your teen to better understand and treat these conditions. If your adolescent is struggling with the following, we can help:

  • Test Taking
  • Memory Issues
  • Homework Organization
  • Behavioral Issues
  • Time Management
  • Medication Management
  • Impulsivity
  • Depression
  • Relationship building and issues
  • Forming independence

Benefits to the Social Skills training group include:

  • Teens will learn strategies for interacting with classmates, family, and friends.
  • Weekly sessions will incorporate the basic skills of making eye contact, communication skills, and how to respond appropriately to social cues.
  • They will learn how to initiate and maintain positive social interactions.
  • The group will focus on recognizing and interpreting emotions including how to identify and manage their strong emotions such as anger, frustration, or low self-esteem.
  • Group participants will learn how to take and accept responsibility for their actions and learn how to develop and strengthen their self-control skills.
  • Self-expression, individual, and group problem solving, imagination, and self-confidence will be encouraged and developed using improvisational role-play of the weekly topics.
  • Participates will learn the process of learning independence and autonomy

At ADD Health & Wellness Centers, our approach is new and unique, and our success is measurable through the use of our Outcome Database, the first of its kind. This ability to measure outcomes allows us to show that we are providing the best possible treatment for your adolescent. Most other treatment providers would be unwilling or unable to share their level of success with you. Together this achieves a significant improvement and transforms the standard of care for ADD.
